NALU PROJECT

"We must stop thinking of nature as something outside of us."
Greta Thunberg
"We are not heirs of the earth, but its guardians."

I love the sea. The waves. The wind.
And I love the feeling of being in the water for hours – protected and warm in a wetsuit. For many of us, the wettie is a great companion on the surfboard. But what happens when it's worn out?
Every year, over a million wetsuits end up in the trash.
Around 8,000 tons of waste that doesn't rot. Doesn't disappear. Doesn't forget.
A material that brings us closer to nature – and at the same time puts a strain on it.
This contradiction made me rethink things.
when neoprene tells stories

I collect worn-out wetsuits and turn them into something new: bags with character. Handmade, functional—and full of memories of sun, salt, and sea. Because neoprene can do more: It's lightweight, flexible, robust, and durable. Perfect for designs that are not only practical but also meaningful.
giving new life to old material

With this project, I want to show that sustainability doesn't have to be a grand gesture. Sometimes a small idea is enough—and the courage to pursue it. Each bag represents a piece of the ocean, a piece of responsibility—and the decision to give things a second life.
